Top Ten Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Pets Than Cats

1. Dogs will tilt their heads and try to understand every word you say. Cats will ignore you and take a nap.

2. Cats look silly on a leash.

3. When you come home from work, your dog will be happy and lick your face. Cats will still be mad at you for leaving in the first place.

4. Dogs will give you unconditional love until the day they die. Cats will make you pay for every mistake you’ve ever made since the day you were born.

5. A dog knows when you’re sad. And he’ll try to comfort you. Cats don’t care how you feel, as long as you remember where the can opener is.

6. Dogs will bring you your slippers. Cats will drop a dead mouse in your slippers.

7. When you take them for a ride, dogs will sit on the seat next to you. Cats have to have their own private basket, or they won’t go at all.

8. Dogs will come when you call them. And they’ll be happy. Cats will have someone take a message and get back to you.

9. Dogs will play fetch with you all day long. The only thing cats will play with all day long are small rodents or bugs, preferably ones that look like they’re in pain.

10. Dogs will wake you up if the house is on fire. Cats will quietly sneak out the door.

On the door of a store, a customer noticed the sign DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG!

He carefully entered the store, but once inside all he saw was a small, harmless old dog asleep on the floor beside the cash register. He asked the store manager, “Is THAT the dog folks are supposed to beware of?”

“Yep, that’s him,” he replied.

The stranger could not help but be amused. “That certainly does not look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?”

“Because,” the owner replied, “before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him.”

An American soldier, serving in World War II, had just returned from several weeks of intense action on the German front lines.

He had finally been granted leave for relaxing and was on a train bound for London. The train was very crowded, so the soldier walked the length of the train, looking for an empty seat. The only unoccupied seat was directly adjacent to a well-dressed middle-aged lady and was being used by her little dog.

The war weary soldier asked, “Please, ma’am, may I sit in that seat?”

The English woman looked down her nose at the soldier, sniffed and said, “You Americans. You are such a rude class of people. Can’t you see my little Fifi is using that seat?”

The soldier walked away, determined to find a place to rest, but after another trip down to the end of the train, found himself again facing the woman with the dog.

Again he asked, “Please, lady. May I sit there? I’m very tired.”

The English woman wrinkled her nose and snorted, “You Americans! Not only are you rude, you are also arrogant. Imagine!”

The soldier didn’t say anything else; he leaned over, picked up the little dog, tossed it out the window of the train and sat down in the empty seat.

The woman shrieked and railed, and demanded that someone defend her and chastise the soldier.

An English gentleman sitting across the aisle spoke up, “You know, sir, you Americans do seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You eat holding the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your cars on the wrong side of the road. And now, sir, you’ve thrown the wrong bitch out the window!”

A large dog is lying down in front of an old man sitting on a park bench.

“Excuse me, sir, but does your dog bite?” a passing jogger asks.

The old man looks over his newspaper and replies, “Nope.”

As soon as the jogger sits down, the dog begins snarling and growling, and then attacks the jogger’s legs.

As the jogger flails around on the ground yelling, “I thought you said your dog didn’t bite!”

The old man mutters, “That’s not my dog.”

What’s the difference between a new husband and a new dog? After a year, the dog is still excited to see you.

Imagine being completely naked in room full of people who speak a different language and everyone wants to touch you…

This is life of a dog.

A father and his 6-year-old son are walking down the street, and they come across two dogs having sex.

The boy is shocked by what he sees and asks his father “Daddy, what are they doing?”

The father, not wanting to lie to his son, says “they’re just making a puppy.”

“OK” says the son, and the father is relieved that he doesn’t probe further.

The next day, the son bursts into his parents’ room and sees them having sex.

The father jumps up and quickly covers himself.

Knowing he’s in for an interesting talk, walks downstairs with him and they sit at the dining room table.

His son asks him “Daddy, what were you and mommy doing?”

Again, wanting to be honest with his son, he says “me and mommy were making a baby.”

His son pauses for a moment, thinking, and then replies “flip mommy over, I want a puppy!”

On the last day of kindergarten, all the children brought presents for their teacher.

The florist’s son handed the teacher a gift.

She shook it, held it up and said, “I bet I know what it is – it’s some flowers!”

“That’s right!” shouted the little boy.

Then the candy store owner’s daughter handed the teacher a gift.

She held it up, shook it and said. “I bet I know what it is – it’s a box of candy!”

“That’s right!” shouted the little girl.

The next gift was from the liquor store owner’s son, Little Johnny.

The teacher held it up and saw that it was leaking.

She touched a drop with her finger and tasted it.

“Is it wine?” she asked. “No,” Little Johnny answered.

The teacher touched another drop to her tongue.

“Is it champagne?” she asked.

“No,” he answered.

Finally, the teacher said, “I give up. What is it?”

Little Johnny replied, “A puppy!”

A man had just settled into his seat next to the window on the plane when another man sat down in the aisle seat and put his black Labrador Retriever in the middle seat next to the man.

The first man looked very quizzically at the dog and asked why the dog was allowed on the plane.

The second man explained that he was from the Police Drugs Enforcement Agency and that the dog was a ‘sniffing dog’.

“His name is Sniffer and he’s the best there is. I’ll show you once we get airborne when I put him to work.”

The plane took off, and once it has leveled out, the Policeman said, watch this.

He told Sniffer to ‘search’.

Sniffer jumped down, walked along the aisle, and finally sat very purposefully next to a woman for several seconds. Sniffer then returned to his seat and put one paw on the policeman’s arm.

The Policeman said, “Good boy”, and he turned to the man and said, “That woman is in possession of marijuana, I’m making a note of her seat number and the authorities will apprehend her when we land.”

“Gee, that’s pretty good,” replied the first man.

Once again, the Policeman sent Sniffer to search the aisles.

The Lab sniffed about, sat down beside a man for a few seconds, returned to its seat, and this time he placed two paws on the agent’s arm.

The Policeman said, “That man is carrying cocaine, so again, I’m taking a note of his seat number for the police.”

“Thats impressive!!” said his seatmate.

The Policeman then told Sniffer to ‘search’ again.

Sniffer walked up and down the aisles for a little while, sat down for a moment, and then came racing back to the agent, jumped into the middle seat and proceeded to shit all over the place.

The first man was really disgusted by this behavior and couldn’t figure out how or why a well-trained dog would behave like that, so he asked the Policeman, “What’s going on?”

The Policeman nervously replied, “H..he..he’s just found a bomb.”
