These are some simple recipes for homemade dog treats you can easily try making at home. Enjoy!

Grain-free Gingerbread Dog Treats

Ingredients:

Yields up to 30 treats

Directions:

  1. Step 1: In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Step 2: On a floured surface, knead the dough and roll it out to 1/4-inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
  3. Step 3: Bake for 12-15 minutes at 163°C. Let cool before feeding them to your pup!

Carrot Oat Applesauce Treats

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup or 1 finely grated large carrot
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup quick oats

Yields 12 servings

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 177°C.
  2. Cover cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  3. Combine all of the above ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
  4. Drop clumps onto the cookie sheet, using a tablespoon. (Or shape that you prefer)
  5. Bake at 177°C.
  6. Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.

No Bake Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup peanut butter.
  • ¼ cup milk.
  • 1 can pumpkin puree.
  • 3 cups of old-fashioned oats.

Yields: approx 20 treats

Directions:

  1. Beat pumpkin puree, milk and peanut butter on medium high with an electric mixer until thoroughly combined. (for about 2 minutes)
  2. Slowly add in one cup of the oats, and keep mixing.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1 ¼ to 1 ½ inch balls.
  4. Dredge them in ½ cup oats, pressing to coat.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for approx 1 hour, until firm.

Tasty Beef and Veggie Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 large carrot, diced (raw)
  • ½ diced sweet potato (raw)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup of coconut flour
  • ½ lb lean ground beef (substitutable with another allergy friendly protein)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 177°C.
  2. Mix above ingredients in large bowl until blended thoroughly
  3. Roll mixture to form small balls
  4. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes at 177°C.
  6. Allow to cool completely before serving

You may substitute/add other veggies such as green beans, spinach or turnips

Artisan Deviled Eggs (ARTISAN DOGVILED EGGS)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 7 large eggs
  • ½ cup shredded carrots (optional)
  • 1 cup of Grandma Lucy’s Artisan Chicken

Yields: 6 treats

Directions:

  1. Hard boil the eggs in a large pot of water for about 12-15 minutes
  2. Remove the shells from eggs carefully to ensure that all pieces of shells are completely removed
  3. Cut the eggs in half, lengthwise.
  4. Add the Artisan Chicken, 1 cup of water and the eggs yolks, mixing until combined.
  5. Put mixture in piping bag and pipe into egg white halves.
  6. Serve with shredded carrots (optional)

Chickpea Grain-Free Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup the Honest Kitchen Love formula dehydrated
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 1/2 cups chickpea flour
  • 2 tablespoons brewer’s yeast
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 177°C.
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Mix flours, brewer’s yeast, Love dry formulate, turmeric, flaxseed meal and parsley in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add broth and oil.
  5. Mix until combined.
  6. Knead until it forms a moist dough.
  7. Roll into ½ inch thick balls and place on cookie sheets. (may cut into shapes if so desired)
  8. Bake at 177°C for 15 to 20 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool completely before serving to your pooch!

Grain Free Banana and Pumpkin Dog Treats

  • ⅓ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup coconut flour
  • 1 ripe banana

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 177°C.

  4. Using rolling pin to roll dough mixture until ¼ inch thick.
  5. Cut treats with cookie cutters or roll into balls.
  6. Place on parchment lined cookie sheet
  7. Bake for 20 minutes at 177°C.
  8. Allow to cool completely before serving.
